In the story "the duke and the dauphin", clearly con artists, are not good for Huck and Jim. I think they are only going to get the boys into trouble. Huck doesn't believe the story the men tell, but Jim believes the mens story about how they are really are an English duke and heir to the French throne. This goes to show how sheltered and gulible slaves were because they never got to be apart of the "outside" world.
I agree that they will get into trouble. You can obviously tell that Dauphin is lying about being French. You wouldn't just forget how to speak your native language.
