Well it is said that Huck's father wanted to hunt down huck to get the six thousand dollars. So that he could use the money to buy alcohol.

ReplyDeleteHis dad does think he's dead, the only reason he wants to find him is so he can get Huck's money. I don't think he really cares much for his son or anyone else but himself. As for why Huck left, it's true he was ok living with his dad, but he didn't have the freedom he wanted. He didn't like the restraints put on him by his father or the widow, that's why he ran away. Also, the fact that his dad tried to kill him at one point was a good indicator that he should get out of there.
