Dream or no Dream??

When Huck and Jim were seperated on the river in the fog, they both were confused and lost. They did not find each other untill the next morning when the fog was gone and Huck spotted a black speck in the distance. When Huck approached the black speck, he saw that it was Jim asleep in his canoe. When Jim woke up and asked Huck what happened, Huck played it all off and told Jim that he had been dreaming. Why would Huck do such a thing like that to Jim, who already doesn't understand alot of things.

  1. Ya im not sure why Huck would lie to Jim either. It kind of seems pointless if you ask me. Jim knew wat happened so for Huck to confuse him even more was just stupid if you ask me. And when Huck sees that Jim is hurt by Huck lying to him when Jim had cared so much about what had happened to him, he feels really sorry and wishes to never do that to Jim again.

  2. Ok this part of the book really confused me. I don't understand why Huck made up the story either. At first I couldn't tell if Huck was actually telling the truth to Jim or making it all up.

  3. I think that Huck told Jim it was a dream so he wouldn't worry and that he wouldn't think that it was more superstition.

  4. Yeah it wasnt very nice for Huck to do that to Jim but he didnt think it would upset him so much and afterwards he felt really bad. So you cant really blame Huck for trying to have a little fun because there isnt much for them to do, but then again after playing the little trick with the snake you would think Huck knows better than to do something like that.
