Honestly?
The family that Huck is staying with are very good people, but they have to much pride for their own good. There is a fued going on and none of the family know what its about. Im sorry if I was in a fued and didn't know what it was about I think I would quit but no the Grangerfords(the family Huck is staying with) can't swallow their pride and go and get their selves shot. They almost deserve what happened to them.

I agree and understand what you are saying, but why would they go get themselves shot? They can just talk to them about it too i suppose.
ReplyDeleteNow days this would be the most logical response, but back then, family feuds were common. Or at least more common than today. It didn't matter what it was about, so long as they protected themselves and their family.
ReplyDeleteIf you were raised to truely hate someone like both of these families thats all you know to feel towards them. Its like racism. Slavery was so popular because thats what people were taught beging when they were a young child. thats all they knew. It took someone standing up against it to make people realize how wrong it was. Like when Sophia ran away with Harney to get married. Their marriage could have made the family realize how redicules this feud was or it could have ended them like it did.
ReplyDeleteYeah i think the Grangerfords got what they deserved... They couldn't grow up and let their problems go, so they ended up getting themselves killed because of their stupidity.
