Huck is pretty bright for being uneducated, but he doesnt have that much common sense. An example of this is when he wants to explore the wrecked river boat. Anyone with common sense would not want to have an "adventure", as Huck put it, ecspecially if it is storming and the boat looks like its getting ready to break apart. A person with common sense would steer clear of the boat and try to stay safe.
Ok i partially agree with this but i have a new view as well.Its not really a matter of common sense as much as it is of just wanting to have fun.Being a 12 year old boy he doesnt see the world the way it really is yet and just sees everything as an obstacle course of his life of fun.I dont think he was meaning to get in trouble or try to get hurt.He was just curious and wanted to have fun.I can totally relate to that and if i was in the book well heck Id join him^-^
ReplyDeleteHuck Finn was educated for a little while living with the Widow. Also I think Huck has some common sense in order to live on his own. Huck also could have been thinking there can be some good stuff in the boat that they can use for survival.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you to a certain extent Gator; anybody with common sense wouldn't get on the ferry. But you need to take in the fact that he is only 12 years old, and he likes to be very adventurous. Yet you also need to think that if he was raised correctly that he wouldn't get on the ferry. So this could go either way.

ReplyDeleteYea I agree with gator. It is him not having that much common sence that makes him so adventurous. I know someone that is really smart but they have no common sense of there own i guess that’s what makes them them.
